PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leon Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leon Lewis looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leon Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andy Norris!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lewis but Lewis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Norris tries to clinch but Lewis moves out of range.
Lewis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Norris circles away quickly and effectively.
Norris ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Norris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Norris counters with a shoot takedown. Lewis fights it but they end up in guard.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Lewis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Norris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lewis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Norris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Norris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Norris.
Lewis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Norris is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lewis is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Norris wants to stall.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Norris blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Lewis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Norris.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lewis seems to be working for a kimura but Norris defends the submission attempt.
Lewis is pressing down on Norris's thigh, looking to free his foot. Norris is holding on for now.

Leon Lewis showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lewis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
