The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mendez is defended easily by Worthington III.
Mendez shoots in for a takedown but Worthington III shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mendez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Worthington III.
Worthington III blocks a head kick by Mendez.
Mendez closes the distance and clinches up with Worthington III, looking for a takedown. Mendez pushes Worthington III against the cage but Worthington III circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Moy Mendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mendez seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Worthington III shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Mendez is backing up but Worthington III catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Mendez covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Worthington III Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
