Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Calassa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Cisterna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Calassa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Cisterna!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calassa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Roberto Calassa has been cut.

Cisterna closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cisterna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calassa keeps working.
Calassa tries to buck Cisterna off but Cisterna is having none of it.
Cisterna tries to advance to mount but Calassa denies him.
Cisterna throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Calassa works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Cisterna wants to work for an arm triangle but Calassa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Calassa throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Cisterna is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cisterna blocks the strikes from Calassa.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cisterna throws a jab but it's blocked by Calassa.

Calassa looks to score with a jab to the body but Cisterna is just out of range.
Cisterna slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Cisterna connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Cisterna throws a jab but it's blocked by Calassa.

Calassa shoots and misses
and Cisterna counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Calassa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cisterna catches Calassa with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cisterna shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Cisterna jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Calassa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Calassa and Cisterna has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Calassa is looking to advance position but Cisterna won't allow it.

Calassa working for a guillotine from mount but Cisterna is in no mood to give up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cisterna regains half guard.
Cisterna wants to sweep but Calassa has passed to side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Calassa trying to control the position but Cisterna is working away.

Calassa looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cisterna looking for a sweep but Calassa has passed into full mount! Oh no!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cisterna is trying to escape the mount.
Calassa wants to control the pace but Cisterna is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Calassa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Cisterna decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Calassa's guard.
Cisterna pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Calassa is keeping the position for now.

Cisterna got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calassa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cisterna has managed to get both his arms back between Calassa's legs - danger averted.

Calassa takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Calassa is trying to control Cisterna's posture but Cisterna avoids it.
Cisterna tries to score with some ground and pound. Calassa controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Cisterna tries to advance to mount but can't.

Cisterna tries for a kimura but Calassa is defending well.
Cisterna is breathing heavily.
Cisterna prevents Calassa from escaping the position.
Calassa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Cisterna seems to be working for a kimura but Calassa defends the submission attempt.

Cisterna is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Calassa defends it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Calassa slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Cisterna avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Calassa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cisterna chips away with some ground and pound.

Cisterna drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Calassa dives on top into guard.
Cisterna wants to sweep here but Calassa controlling him for the moment.
Cisterna keeping full guard, as Calassa tries to pass.

Calassa drops back looking for a leg! Cisterna is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cisterna manages to kick Calassa off! Calassa jumps back into Cisterna's guard.

Cisterna looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ryan Cisterna has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cisterna is looking for a triangle here but Calassa uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Calassa tries for a kimura but Cisterna is defending well.
Cisterna is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Cisterna showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Calassa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cisterna.
Calassa ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Calassa tries for a takedown but Cisterna circles away easily
and Cisterna counters with a nice uppercut.

and Cisterna counters with a nice right hand that sends Calassa toppling to the canvas! Calassa scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Cisterna finish him?!

Cisterna drops Calassa with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Calassa! Cisterna dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
