Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Angel Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Vazguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Angel Soto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eduardo Vazguez! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soto bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vazguez's head. The fight moves into the clinch position. Vazguez is working for takedown but Soto is calmly controlling the position for now. Soto decides to pull guard. Vazguez trying to control but Soto is working from the bottom. Vazguez landing some decent shots from guard. Soto looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vazguez throws and elbow that misses. Soto uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Vazguez's guard. Nice move by Soto! Soto throwing strikes from guard but Vazguez blocks nicely. Soto wants to control from the top but Vazguez keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Soto accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vazguez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Soto is aware though and is defending well. Soto trying to control but Vazguez is working from the bottom. Soto won't allow Vazguez to sweep him here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vazguez closes the distance looking to clinch and Soto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vazguez tries to clinch there but Soto circles away.
Vazguez misses with a takedown and Soto counters with a nice double leg into side control. Vazguez won't be happy with that. Soto works to advance to full mount. Vazguez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Soto swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Vazguez is now in Soto's guard. A big mistake from Soto there, giving up the dominant position! Vazguez content to stall in guard here. Soto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vazguez defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soto is looking for a triangle but Vazguez pushes his legs off easily.
Soto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Vazguez! Vazguez is trying desperately to improve position. Soto jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vazguez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vazguez and Soto has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vazguez tries to improve position but can't. Soto working the head with strikes. Soto grinds an elbow into Vazguez's temple. Soto is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vazguez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vazguez is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Angel Soto dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Vazguez shoots in and bounces Soto off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Vazguez postures up.
Vazguez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vazguez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vazguez stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Soto throws up his legs and catches Vazguez in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Vazguez tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Soto! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Angel Soto!
