Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thurgood Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hohiro Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thurgood Jenkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thurgood Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hohiro Suzuki! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins is looking to clinch but Suzuki is avoiding it.
Jenkins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Suzuki to the mat! Suzuki manages to get full guard. Suzuki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jenkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jenkins with a flurry of punches that miss. Jenkins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jenkins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Suzuki looks gassed! Jenkins stands and throws Suzuki's legs to the side, diving into side control. Suzuki prevents Jenkins from improving position. Suzuki regains half guard, as Jenkins was trying to land strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins throwing shots but Suzuki is blocking nicely. Suzuki keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jenkins thows a huge punch but Suzuki dodges it nicely.
Jenkins works his way into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jenkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jenkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jenkins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Suzuki to his feet. Jenkins feints and as Suzuki raises his hands in defense, Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Suzuki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jenkins controls the pace. Jenkins is looking to work some ground and pound but Suzuki has wrist control. Jenkins passes Suzuki's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins trying to control from Suzuki's half guard. Suzuki has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Jenkins trying to move into half guard but instead Suzuki has managed to sweep! Suzuki wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving. Jenkins looking to control.
Suzuki gets to his feet - Jenkins follows without any prompting. Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Suzuki paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jenkins fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jenkins dodges the punch combination from Suzuki.

Jenkins tries to clinch but Suzuki moves out of range. Jenkins fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jenkins wants to clinch up but Suzuki keeps it at a distance. Thurgood Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jenkins fails in his attempt to clinch. Suzuki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jenkins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jenkins stands up over Suzuki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Jenkins trying to control but Suzuki is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thurgood Jenkins dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jenkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jenkins fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jenkins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Suzuki swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jenkins tries to clinch there but Suzuki circles away.
Jenkins tries to clinch but Suzuki moves out of range. Jenkins fails with the takedown. Jenkins shoots and misses and Suzuki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thurgood Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him. Suzuki tries for a takedown but Jenkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Suzuki is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jenkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jenkins connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Suzuki to the floor! Jenkins dives in looking for the finish!
Suzuki is rocked! Jenkins is nestled in close to Suzuki, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Suzuki is still in real trouble! Can Jenkins finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jenkins is working for a kimura but Suzuki is defending it quite comfortably.
Jenkins sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Suzuki defending well though. Jenkins wants to pass the guard but Suzuki is defending well. Suzuki seems to have recovered his senses. Jenkins lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jenkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Suzuki's head. Suzuki blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jenkins. Jenkins not doing much here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jenkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Suzuki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jenkins working the ground and pound. Jenkins wants to control but Suzuki is keeping him busy. Jenkins tries to score with some ground and pound. Suzuki controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suzuki dodges the ground and pound from Jenkins. Jenkins misses with the ground and pound. Jenkins throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Jenkins lands some shots froms side control. Suzuki is not content to let Jenkins control the position. Jenkins working the strikes but Suzuki uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Jenkins thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Suzuki to regain full guard. Jenkins has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jenkins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jenkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jenkins tries to clinch and Suzuki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Suzuki circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jenkins tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jenkins tries to clinch up but Suzuki circles away and keeps his distance. Jenkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Suzuki's waist but Suzuki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jenkins off to one side. Suzuki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jenkins throws a lazy head kick and Suzuki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jenkins! Jenkins is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thurgood Jenkins dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Jenkins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jenkins lands a big head kick that sends Suzuki to the canvas! Jenkins follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
