Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen I'm Sorry Ms. Jackson as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Quinton Jackson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Anthony Patterson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quinton Jackson! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patterson has a takedown stuffed. Patterson moves into range and clinches up with Jackson. Patterson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jackson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jackson lands a shoulder strike. A nice left hand lands by Jackson.
Jackson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Patterson can't fight it off and eventually Jackson manages to take the fight to the floor. Patterson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jackson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patterson keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Jackson stopping the sweep attempt from Patterson. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patterson pulls Jackson in close to prevent any damage. Jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Patterson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jackson tries to clinch but Patterson moves out of range. Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Patterson. Stalling in the clinch from Patterson.
Jackson takes a knee to the side of the body. Patterson trying to stall but Jackson improves his position.
Jackson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Patterson leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is working Patterson over against the cage. Patterson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jackson's defenses. A frustrated look appears on Jackson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Patterson has Jackson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jackson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Patterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jackson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jackson wants to control the position but Patterson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Jackson wants to get back to full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jackson desperately trying to maintain half guard. Jackson tries to get to full guard but Patterson has control of the leg. Jackson looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jackson regains full guard. Nicely done. Patterson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson looking for a guillotine here but Patterson defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson wants to sweep here but Patterson controlling him for the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. No luck for Patterson with that takedown attempt. Jackson closes the distance and clinches. Patterson tries to pull guard but Jackson won't allow it.
Patterson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position. Patterson wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Quinton Jackson will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jackson rushes Patterson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jackson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Patterson has him pressed against the cage. Jackson stops a takedown attempt from Patterson.
Jackson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Patterson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jab by Patterson. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Patterson checks a leg kick. Patterson shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Patterson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A leg kick checked by Jackson. Jackson misses with a double jab.
Jackson throws a jab when Patterson was well out of range. Jackson throws a right hand that Patterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Patterson also avoids with ease. Jackson is breathing heavily. Jackson tries to clinch up but Patterson circles away and keeps his distance. Patterson explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Patterson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Patterson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jackson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Jackson can't do much from the bottom here. Patterson tries to advance to mount but can't. Jackson is looking to reverse the position. Jackson prevents Patterson from improving position. Patterson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patterson looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well. Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there. Jackson wants to take a breather but Patterson is having none of it. Jackson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Patterson. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. That was a close second round but I would say that Anthony Patterson will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Jackson looks to clinch and Patterson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jackson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Jackson is working an open guard so Patterson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jackson throws a combination that misses and Patterson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jackson's guard now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Patterson is one step ahead there. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson misses with a two punch combination.
Patterson tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Patterson lands a really nice looking cross but Jackson seems unphased.

Anthony Patterson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jackson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Patterson. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jackson lands a couple of elbows. Patterson controlling the position. Patterson keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Patterson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has Patterson in his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Patterson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Patterson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
