Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vevrin Betlach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilberto Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vevrin Betlach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gilberto Silva! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Betlach forces Silva back against the cage and clinches. Silva manages to pull guard.
Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet. Silva has his feet on Betlach's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Silva fails with a takedown attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Betlach looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Betlach misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Betlach moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. Silva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Betlach tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Betlach slow jab from Silva misses its intended target. Silva slips under a jab from Betlach.
That's one minute gone in the round. Betlach circles away from the clinch attempt.
Betlach throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Vevrin Betlach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Betlach misses. Betlach swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time. Vevrin Betlach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gilberto Silva. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Betlach's waist but Betlach gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side. Betlach misses with a kick to the body.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Betlach is breathing heavily. Silva is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Betlach will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Betlach has escaped the position, nice work there. Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Betlach knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva tries to advance to mount but Betlach denies him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Betlach wants to control but Silva postures up. Silva scores with punches from side control. Betlach manages to work his way to half guard, despite Silva's best efforts. Betlach pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.
Betlach is trying to get back to full guard. Silva looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Betlach has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though. Silva takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva moves nicely into side control. Silva tries for a kimura but Betlach is defending well. Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Betlach is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Silva advances nicely into full mount. Silva works his way to his opponent's back.
Silva is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Betlach defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Silva trying to control. Silva has good solid back control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Betlach is trying to break free.
Betlach is trying to defend against the choke here but Silva has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Silva Tightens the hold and Betlach taps out furiously! Silva displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
