Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Smithee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smithee's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, I Will Survive . Alan Smithee is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alan Smithee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fernando Torres!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Torres.
Smithee moves away from the strike by Torres.
Smithee fails with a takedown attempt.

Smithee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Torres's guard.

Smithee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smithee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Smithee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Torres is keeping the position for now.
Smithee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Torres's guard.

Torres wants to control but Smithee is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Torres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smithee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smithee bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Smithee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Torres but Torres pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Torres looks to throw the jab but Smithee is out of range.
Torres misses with a hook. Smithee ducked under it nicely.

Smithee walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Torres tries to clinch there but Smithee circles away.

Smithee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Torres sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Torres might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Torres tries to bum rush Smithee with a series of wild strikes but Smithee uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smithee throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Torres was covering up waiting for the punch and Smithee finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Smithee drops back looking for a leg! Torres is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Torres manages to kick Smithee off! Smithee jumps back into Torres's guard.

Torres is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Smithee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Torres can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smithee passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smithee is working for a kimura but Torres is defending it quite comfortably.

Smithee is looking for a kimura but Torres is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smithee to get the leverage.

Torres has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smithee is working away from the top position though.

Smithee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Torres is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Smithee shoots in for a double leg but Torres sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Torres misses with an uppercut.
Torres tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smithee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Torres uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smithee has time to react.
Fernando Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Torres scores with a decent looking hook.
Torres is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

A jab-cross combination lands for Torres and sends Smithee crashing to the mat! Torres follows him down to the mat - Smithee regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Well, if Torres is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Smithee is refusing to be controlled, as Torres sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Torres keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Smithee gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oh Smithee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Torres is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Smithee hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
