Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ortiz but Ortiz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ortiz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gomes to the mat! Gomes manages to get full guard.
Ortiz advances to half guard.
Ortiz is pressing down on Gomes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gomes is holding on for now.
Gomes is looking to control Ortiz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gomes avoid being mounted?
Ortiz wants to stand but Gomes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortiz tries to advance to mount but Gomes denies him.
Gomes is trying to control Ortiz's posture but Ortiz avoids it.

Ortiz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gomes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Gomes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ortiz's guard.
Gomes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ortiz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gomes has Ortiz in his guard.
Gomes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ortiz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Gomes is tightening it up a little... Ortiz has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ortiz reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ortiz taps out! nice BJJ there by Gomes!
