Ibarra is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dropkick Murphys - "I'm Shipping Up to Boston". Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hugo Ibarra!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Stout as Ibarra shoots in.
Ibarra shoots in for a double leg but Stout sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ibarra wants to clinch.
Ibarra throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Stout feints and as Ibarra raises his hands in defense, Stout changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stout passes Ibarra's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Stout is looking to take a break and control but Ibarra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stout is looking for a kimura here.
Ibarra won't allow Stout to pass to mount.

Stout is looking for a kimura but Ibarra is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stout to get the leverage.
Ibarra regains full guard. Nicely done.
Stout stands and throws Ibarra's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Stout really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ibarra jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Stout manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Stout tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ibarra wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ibarra is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stout knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ibarra wants to work for an arm triangle but Stout is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ibarra is working for a kimura but Stout is defending it quite comfortably.
Ibarra tries to pass to full mount but Stout defends it.
Stout is pressing down on Ibarra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Edward Stout will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ibarra is on top in guard.

Stout keeping full guard, as Ibarra tries to pass.

Stout escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ibarra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stout wants to sweep but no luck.
Ibarra is breathing heavily.

Ibarra is looking to stand up but Stout won't let him.

Stout throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Stout had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ibarra is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Stout Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ibarra's back instead.

Stout is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Ibarra won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Stout off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Edward Stout!
