Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and MCJ Guti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Romanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, MCJ Guti!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guti throws a leg kick but Romanov sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Romanov clinches up against the cage.
Guti tries for a takedown but Romanov manages to get underhooks.
Guti drops down looking for an ankle pick but Romanov pulls his leg out and moves away.

Romanov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Romanov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Romanov prevents Guti from getting the reversal.
Guti wants to control but Romanov is having none of it.
Romanov fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Romanov content just to control the position here.
Romanov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guti for as long as he can get away with.

Guti is squirming around, avoiding Romanov's attempts to control the action.

Guti is trying desperately to improve position.
Guti is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Romanov get's back to his feet.
Romanov is breathing heavily.
Romanov dives in and grabs Guti's left leg, looking for a takedown. Guti pushes down on Romanov's head and hops out.

Romanov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guti sprawls well initially but Romanov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Guti working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Romanov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Romanov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Romanov wants to control from the top but Guti keeps moving.

Guti looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Romanov passes into side control.

I would not like to be Guti right now.
Guti breaks Romanov's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Romanov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Guti tries to free his leg and advance position but Romanov is retaining full guard.

Guti thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Romanov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Romanov tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Guti drops back looking for a leg! Romanov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Romanov manages to kick Guti off! Guti jumps back into Romanov's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrei Romanov will probably get the nod.
That's time! Romanov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Romanov looks to land a combination but Guti avoids it well.
Romanov throws a leg kick

and Guti counters with a nice double leg into side control. Romanov won't be happy with that.
Romanov gets back to half guard.
MCJ Guti has got the better of the ground game so far.
Romanov is looking to improve his position.

Guti is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Romanov sees it coming and defends easily.
Romanov wants to control but Guti is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Guti is looking for a kimura but Romanov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guti to get the leverage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Guti in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Romanov tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Guti!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). MCJ Guti!
