Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franklin Faber! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Jones! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Faber lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jones pulls Faber into guard.
Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Faber controls the pace. Jones controlling the position. Faber has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones is looking for a triangle but Faber pushes his legs off easily.
Faber controls from within his opponent's guard. Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Faber is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Faber is proving a slippery customer.

Jones pushes Faber off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Faber keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Faber shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Faber was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Faber wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Faber will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Faber is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Faber is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jones is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faber is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Faber is breathing heavily. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Faber is retaining full guard. Faber looking to control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Faber looks to clinch and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Faber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Faber wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jones manages to pass to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Faber trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Faber works his way to full guard. Good work. Faber is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Faber had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jones is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Faber Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jones's back instead. Faber lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Faber has good solid back control here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones swings away with a leg kick that misses. Faber looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones! Faber has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Jones is forced to tap!
