Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Rummer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Musashi ! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Musashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Musashi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rummer shoots in for a takedown but Musashi shows good takedown defense. Musashi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Musashi throws a hook but Rummer blocks it. Rummer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Musashi is trying to defend but Rummer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Musashi is trying to stand up here but Rummer is controlling him well. Rummer is looking for a kimura here.
Rummer is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rummer is looking to advance position but Musashi won't allow it. The fighters are battling for position here. Musashi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Musashi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Musashi manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Musashi 's corner calls for a 1-2. Musashi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
It looks like Ryan Rummer has been cut. Musashi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. A looping hook to the body misses from Musashi . Rummer does a little dance to reset his feet. Rummer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rummer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rummer is breathing heavily. Rummer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rummer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Musashi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rummer. Rummer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Musashi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rummer is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Musashi throws a hook to the side of Rummer's head but Rummer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Musashi throws a body punch but Rummer moves out of range. Musashi lands a jab to Rummer's midsection. A looping hook to the body misses from Musashi . Rummer does a little dance to reset his feet. Musashi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rummer moves away. Randy Musashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Musashi swings for the body but Rummer moves out of range.
Musashi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rummer. Musashi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rummer's head backwards. A combination from Musashi does no damage. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Musashi misses with a straight right. Rummer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Musashi swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Rummer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Musashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rummer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Musashi pulls Rummer in close to prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rummer throws a strike but Musashi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Musashi wants to stand but Rummer is controlling his posture from full guard. Musashi drops back looking for a leg! Rummer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rummer manages to kick Musashi off! Musashi jumps back into Rummer's guard. Rummer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rummer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Musashi defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Musashi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ryan Rummer's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Rummer has a takedown stuffed. Musashi connects with a body shot. Musashi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Musashi lands with a nice body punch. Musashi tests Rummer's chin there with a solid looking shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Musashi drops Rummer with a left and a right! Oh, Rummer is hurt - Musashi dives into side control looking to finish!
Ryan Rummer's cut is getting worse. Musashi tries for a kimura but Rummer is defending well. Musashi misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Musashi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Musashi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Musashi has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Musashi decides to stand back up. Musashi steps back and let's Rummer get back to his feet. Rummer shoots in for a takedown but Musashi shows good takedown defense. Rummer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Musashi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rummer momentarily.
Ryan Rummer's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Rummer is looking to clinch but Musashi is avoiding it.
Musashi lunges at Rummer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rummer's hand. Musashi misses with a double jab.
Musashi thows a left - swing and a miss! Musashi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Good shot there by Musashi . Musashi looks to score with a jab to the body but Rummer is just out of range. Rummer clinches with his opponent.
Rummer gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Musashi regains guard.
Musashi wants to sweep here but Rummer controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rummer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rummer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rummer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rummer trying to control the position from guard on top but Musashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Musashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rummer trying to control but Musashi is working from the bottom. Rummer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rummer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jeez, Ryan Rummer's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
