The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdul tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mayeda sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Abdul somewhat.
Mayeda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Abdul really wants to buck Mayeda off and get back to his feet.
Mayeda controlling the pace for now.
Abdul is trying to stand up.
Mayeda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mayeda can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abdul is looking to escape.
Abdul is controlling an arm, preventing Mayeda from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Abdul is trying to escape the mount.
Mayeda quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Mayeda but it's paid off an Abdul is forced to tap! Nice work by Mayeda.
