Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Blachowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blachowicz has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Jan Blachowicz has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir throws a sloppy head kick and Blachowicz moves out of range easily.
Mir throws a series of punches but Blachowicz moves out of range.

Mir clinches with his opponent.
Mir is trying to break the clinch but Blachowicz has him pressed against the cage.

Mir manages to pull guard.
Mir wants to sweep but no luck.
Mir pulls Blachowicz in to control the position.
Blachowicz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Blachowicz is breathing heavily.
Mir wants to sweep here but Blachowicz controlling him for the moment.

Blachowicz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mir lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Blachowicz!

Mir lands a big shot there that rocks Blachowicz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Mir is landing with some decent strikes but Blachowicz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Mir is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Blachowicz is in real trouble.

Blachowicz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Mir. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You can see the frustration on Blachowicz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Mir is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Blachowicz is defending well though. Mir let's go of the attempt for now.

Mir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blachowicz was well out of range. Poor timing from Mir.

Mir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mir has eaten all the pies!

Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blachowicz defends it well.

Blachowicz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mir bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blachowicz's guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Mir just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mir winds up and cracks Blachowicz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mir in particular looking to stall.

Mir postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Blachowicz to stand up.

Mir closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Frank Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mir closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Blachowicz to the mat! Blachowicz manages to get full guard.
Mir lands a couple of elbows.
Mir controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Blachowicz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mir is aware though and is defending well.

Mir thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mir stands and steps away. Blachowicz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Blachowicz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mir is not content to let Blachowicz control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mir wants to control but Blachowicz postures up.
Mir has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mir is trying to work for a sweep but Blachowicz has mounted him!

Mir manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mir is trying to control but can't.

Mir pushes Blachowicz off and gets back to his feet.

and Mir decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blachowicz's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mir slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Blachowicz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mir defends well.

Blachowicz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Mir has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
