Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Abker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and vitor bain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abker's entrance music is Tupac - I Get Around. A fine choice. vitor bain will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! bain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
bain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Abker. bain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Abker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but bain avoids it really well and circles away. bain thows a body shot but no joy. bain scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Abker fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Abker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Abker is trying hard to land a takedown here. bain sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. bain tries to bum rush Abker with a series of wild strikes but Abker uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Abker takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Abker clinches up with bain and pushes him back against the cage. Abker keeps control of bain as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Abker prevents bain from breaking the clinch.

Abker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Abker is trying to control the position but bain postures up. bain tries to stand but Abker is controlling from the bottom. Abker has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Abker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
bain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. bain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Abker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. bain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Abker's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abker pulls bain in close to prevent any damage. bain wants to stand but Abker has a closed guard, so he can't escape. bain looks gassed! Abker wants to sweep here but bain controlling him for the moment. Abker controls bain momentarily but bain frees himself.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Abker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from bain finds it's way round the side to connect with Abker's head. bain connects with a jab. Abker shoots in for a takedown but bain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nice jab there from bain. bain tries a head kick but it misses.
bain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Abker manages to avoid it. bain shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's three minutes gone in the round. bain leaves Abker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Abker scores a takedown into full mount! A nice elbow there by Abker. bain wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. bain in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. bain defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Abker. bain trying desperately to get to his feet.
Abker controlling the position easily from mount. bain is squirming around, avoiding Abker's attempts to control the action.

Abker landing strikes, looking to finish! Abker working for a submission but bain is keeping him at bay. Abker is standing up, even though he is in mount. Abker takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

bain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. bain lunges at Abker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Abker's hand. bain misses with a few strikes there.
Abker walks into a stiff left hand from bain. bain lands a jab-cross combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abker gets cracked with a nice right hand there by bain. Abker fails with a takedown attempt. bain fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Abker is out of range. Abker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Abker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. bain is breathing heavily. bain is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Abker scores with a couple of nice shots. Abker wants to pass to mount but bain is defending the position. Still in half guard, Abker seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. bain tries to kick Abker off but Abker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Abker seems to be looking for submissions.
Abker controlling the action here. Abker winds up and cracks bain with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Abker stands up from half guard. vitor bain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. bain looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. bain throws a right and a left that Abker avoids nicely. Abker fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Abker. Nice takedown defense from bain. No joy for Abker on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Abker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Abker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. bain scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. bain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Abker looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. bain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Abker. Brian Abker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Abker gets cracked with a nice right hand there by bain. Abker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abker shoots in but no luck this time. Abker scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. bain wants to get back to his feet but Abker drags him back down. Abker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Abker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Abker looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sloppy strikes there by Abker. bain wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Abker slows the pace down. bain is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Abker has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Not really close to a finish though. bain is trying to buck Abker off. Abker cracks bain with a big elbow. Abker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. bain bucks up and tries to throw Abker off but instead Abker has got his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Abker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches bain napping and manages to drive through into side control! Abker has worked his way into a potential kimura here. bain is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Abker yanks on the arm and bain is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Abker.
