Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyler knocks Kota to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Tyler just content to control the position.
The strikes coming from Tyler are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kota tries to buck Tyler off but Tyler is having none of it.

Tyler wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kota, who protects the arm well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kota wants to get back to his feet.

Tyler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kota is just riding it out for now. Tyler eventually gives up the hold.
Tyler moves into full mount! Kota won't be happy about that!
Kota wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tyler.

Tyler swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kota is now in Tyler's guard. A big mistake from Tyler there, giving up the dominant position!
Kota has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kota stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tyler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tyler can't keep his opponent in guard - Kota advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kota wants to pass to mount but Tyler is defending the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tyler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kota is fending him off so far but Tyler persists. Nope, Kota circles away and we're back to standing.
Tyler just misses with a punch to the body.
Tyler bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tyler misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyler throws a sloppy head kick and Kota moves out of range easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kota.

Tyler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Kota wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tyler keeps working.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kota shoots for a takedown but Tyler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kota wants to clinch up but Tyler keeps it at a distance.

and Tyler counters with a nice body kick.
Tyler shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kota sprawls well. Kota wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tyler gets slowly back to his feet.
Tyler throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kota chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tyler can pounce on him.
Kota connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tyler momentarily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tyler is looking for a triangle but Kota pushes his legs off easily.

Kota decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tyler, up you get!

Kota closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tyler did well to prevent Kota getting side control.

Tyler tries to roll over but Kota keeps him under control.

Kota closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tyler is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kota off and has taken his back!

I really don't envy Kota right now.

Tyler is trying to stick to Kota's back but Kota is turning into Tyler. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tyler's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kota.
Kota with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kota stands and steps away. Tyler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kota throws a series of punches but Tyler moves out of range.
Tyler tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Tyler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kota wants to stand but Tyler has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tyler is controlling Kota's posture.

Kota is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tyler is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tyler has escaped and now he's on top!

Tyler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tyler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kota looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kota looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kota!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
