0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tucker James! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James connects with a looping right hand.
James fails in his attempt to clinch. Kudryavtsev fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though. James displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kudryavtsev. Kudryavtsev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kudryavtsev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Svyatoslav Kudryavtsev. That's going to take a lot out of him. James tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. James connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kudryavtsev momentarily.

Kudryavtsev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes. James tries to clinch up. Kudryavtsev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. James sprawls well initially but Kudryavtsev persists and gets the takedown into half guard. James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kudryavtsev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kudryavtsev prevents James from improving his position. Kudryavtsev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kudryavtsev stops James from getting back to his feet.

Kudryavtsev is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. James is trying to maintain the position but Kudryavtsev is very close to passing his half guard. James tries to get to full guard but Kudryavtsev has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. James throws a jab when Kudryavtsev was well out of range. Kudryavtsev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kudryavtsev takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

James tries to close the distance and clinch but Kudryavtsev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. James throws a wild combination but nothing lands. James is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kudryavtsev had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Kudryavtsev avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kudryavtsev moves forwards but James connects with a nice, crisp jab. Kudryavtsev shoots for a takedown but James saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. James lands a jab-cross combination. Kudryavtsev avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

James dips down and scores with a jab to the body. James scores with a sloppy right hand. Kudryavtsev should have avoided that one. Kudryavtsev takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. James moves in looking to clinch but Kudryavtsev pushes him off. James cracks Kudryavtsev with a right hand to the side of the head. James connects with the punch. James fails in his attempt to clinch. A lazy left from James finds it's target. James connects with a crisp jab. James connects with a crisp jab. James should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kudryavtsev tries to move into range but James moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. James scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. James with a nice cross. James misses with a straight right. James fails with a takedown attempt from distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kudryavtsev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling James to score with a decent uppercut. James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kudryavtsev swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kudryavtsev drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kudryavtsev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. James tries to clinch but Kudryavtsev is having none of it. James throws out a powerful jab. James lands with a nice body punch. James misses with a double jab.

Tucker James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab by James. James misses with a looping left. Kudryavtsev swats away the attempt to clinch by James. Kudryavtsev drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

James connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. James bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. James throws an elbow but Kudryavtsev slips to the side and avoids it well. Kudryavtsev is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. James thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ground and pound from James seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kudryavtsev wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Kudryavtsev is trying to get back to his feet. James trying to control the action but Kudryavtsev is working from the bottom. Kudryavtsev is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, James asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kudryavtsev's head. Kudryavtsev takes one to the chin there. James lands the left hand. Kudryavtsev keeps the fight on the outside. Kudryavtsev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. James listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. James punishes Kudryavtsev's body with a nice straight punch. A jab lands there for James. James throws a right and a left that Kudryavtsev avoids nicely. James scores with a nice head shot. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! James darts in and out, connecting with a jab. James lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kudryavtsev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. James throws a hook to the side of Kudryavtsev's head but Kudryavtsev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. James misses with a looping right. James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. James misses with an uppercut. Kudryavtsev saw that one coming. James throws a body punch but Kudryavtsev moves out of range. James tries to clinch up. James tries to bum rush Kudryavtsev with a series of wild strikes but Kudryavtsev uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kudryavtsev. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kudryavtsev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kudryavtsev fails with a takedown attempt. James lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Kudryavtsev shoots in and drives through. James sprawls well. Kudryavtsev uses good head movement to avoid the hook from James. James lands a nice shot that snaps Kudryavtsev's head back.
James connects with a jab. James tries to clinch but Kudryavtsev moves out of range. James lands a lovely overhand right. Tucker James seems to be getting the better of the standup. James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kudryavtsev is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
James landing strikes from the mount and Kudryavtsev is in trouble! Poor strikes thrown by James there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
James is landing with some decent strikes but Kudryavtsev is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. James throwing strikes here but Kudryavtsev is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Tucker James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. James has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Kudryavtsev. James is trying to break free.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. James misses with a hook. Kudryavtsev ducked under it nicely. James punishes Kudryavtsev's body with a nice straight punch. James sizes up Kudryavtsev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kudryavtsev's head. James has a takedown stuffed. Kudryavtsev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. James tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kudryavtsev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten James somewhat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kudryavtsev is defended easily by James. Tucker James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kudryavtsev. A punch lands to the side of Kudryavtsev 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Kudryavtsev has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. James wants to clinch up but Kudryavtsev keeps it at a distance. Nice defenses there by Kudryavtsev. James fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kudryavtsev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. James scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Svyatoslav Kudryavtsev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
