Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iain Durrant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Taylor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Iain Durrant! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor fails to land with a series of punches.
Durrant looks for a takedown but Taylor sprawls well. Durrant shoots in and drives through. Taylor sprawls well. Durrant closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Durrant lands in his opponent's guard. Durrant has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Taylor is proving hard to escape from. Durrant looking to pass the guard. Taylor working for a triangle but Durrant defends it easily.
Durrant wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position. Durrant trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Durrant trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor trying to keep a closed guard but Durrant is proving a slippery customer.
Durrant won't allow Taylor to sweep him here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A combination from Taylor does no damage. Durrant drives through and clinches with Taylor against the ropes.
Durrant works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Durrant loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Taylor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Durrant trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Durrant wanted to stand there but Taylor had control of the position. Durrant looks gassed! Durrant not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Durrant trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Taylor pushes Durrant off and scrambles back to his feet.
Taylor connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tim Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iain Durrant. Durrant misses with a few strikes there.
Taylor throws a nice inside leg kick. Durrant shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Taylor but Taylor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Taylor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Taylor. Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Taylor lands a jab-cross combination. Durrant shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Durrant has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Taylor finds it's way round the side to connect with Durrant's head. Taylor misses with the combination.
Tim Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taylor tests Durrant's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Taylor!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor controls Durrant momentarily but Durrant frees himself. Taylor being controlled here, momentarily. Taylor tries to strike from the bottom.
Durrant slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Durrant shoots in but no luck this time. Durrant takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Durrant drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Durrant wanted to stand there but Taylor had control of the position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Durrant slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Taylor wants to control but Durrant is keeping busy and won't allow it. Durrant decides to return to a standing position. A nice combination there by Taylor.
Durrant looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Taylor is fending him off so far but Durrant persists. Nope, Taylor circles away and we're back to standing. Durrant shoots for a takedown but Taylor saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Durrant decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Durrant is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Durrant controlling his opponent. Taylor wants to control but Durrant is having none of it. Durrant landing strikes from the mount and Taylor is in trouble! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Durrant is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Taylor can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Durrant wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Durrant is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Durrant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Iain Durrant! Iain Durrant is the new featherweight champion!
