Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ewert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurgen Voller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Ewert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jurgen Voller!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voller lands a head kick. Ewert smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Voller blocks the body kick.
Some wild striking there from Voller.
Voller with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Voller shoots for a takedown but Ewert saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ewert showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Voller.
Voller connects with a nice looking jab.

Ewert shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Voller is trying to defend but Ewert finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ewert trying to control the action but Voller is working from the bottom.
Voller is looking for a sweep. Ewert is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Voller looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Voller is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ewert's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ewert's back!
Voller misses with an elbow to the head.

Voller doesn't have the hooks in and Ewert manages to turn into his guard.
Voller lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ewert!
Poor strikes thrown by Voller there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Ewert sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ewert wants to control but Voller is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Voller wants to get back to his feet.
Ewert is looking to control Voller's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ewert avoid being mounted?
Voller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ewert tries to kick Voller off but Voller keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Voller not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Voller is trying to control the action in half guard but Ewert is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Voller shoots in for a takedown but Ewert shows good takedown defense.

Voller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ewert sprawls well initially but Voller persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Voller is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Voller looks gassed!
Ewert is trying to maintain the position but Voller is very close to passing his half guard.

Voller is looking to stall here but Ewert recovers full guard.
Voller working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Voller preventing the sweep.
Voller passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Voller misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Voller thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Voller looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Voller throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Ewert works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Voller stalling away here and it's allowed Ewert to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Ewert avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ewert is adopting a defensive guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ewert working for a triangle but Voller defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jurgen Voller dominated that round.

Voller scores with a shot to the body.
Voller pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Voller bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ewert's head backwards.
Voller connects with a crisp jab.
Ewert fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ewert takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jurgen Voller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ewert gets the takedown into side control.
Voller is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ewert's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Voller is looking for a sweep. Ewert is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Voller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Voller looking for a guillotine here but Ewert defends easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ewert is sitting in close to Voller's body. Voller has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Ewert is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Ewert is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Voller.
