Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Visconti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sonny Visconti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Alvarez. No joy for Visconti on that attempt. Nice sprawl there from Visconti as Alvarez shoots in. Alvarez tries to clinch but Visconti moves out of range. A head kick misses from Alvarez. Visconti shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Alvarez wants to stand up but Visconti is controlling the position.
Alvarez is looking to take a break and control but Visconti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Visconti tries to roll over but Alvarez keeps him under control. Visconti is not content to let Alvarez control the position. Visconti wants to improve his position but Alvarez is controlling well.
Alvarez is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Visconti sees it coming and defends easily. Visconti could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Visconti is pulling down on Alvarez's head to control his posture. Visconti is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Alvarez throwing strikes from guard but Visconti blocks nicely. Visconti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Visconti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Alvarez gets to his feet. Visconti looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Alvarez wants to clinch up but Visconti keeps it at a distance.

Visconti keeping moving, preventing Alvarez from controlling successfully. Visconti looking for a sweep. Not yet Visconti, not yet. Visconti looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Alvarez looking to pass the guard. Visconti lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alvarez! Visconti looking for a guillotine from mount but Alvarez is having none of it. Visconti is breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alvarez shoots in but Visconti avoids the takedown attempt easily. Visconti shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Alvarez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvarez trying to control the position from guard on top but Visconti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Visconti bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard. Visconti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alvarez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alvarez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alvarez! Visconti is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Alvarez performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Visconti is refusing to be controlled, as Alvarez sits in half guard. Visconti desperately trying to maintain half guard. Visconti trying to control here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Visconti blocks a head kick by Alvarez.

Visconti doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alvarez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Visconti is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Alvarez is looking for a sweep. Visconti is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Alvarez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Visconti tries to avoid it but Alvarez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Visconti to the ground. Visconti escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Visconti sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat. Alvarez tries to clinch but Visconti is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Visconti fails with the takedown and Alvarez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Visconti tries to land a sweep but no joy. Alvarez wants to get up but he can't break Visconti's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Alvarez stands up and waves to Visconti to follow him. Visconti drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Alvarez working a defensive guard here.

Visconti stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Visconti wants it to stay on the feet. Visconti avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alvarez is looking to clinch. Miguel Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Visconti gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alvarez to score an easy takedown into full guard.

But Alvarez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Alvarez! Alvarez content to stall in guard here. Miguel Alvarez has got the better of the ground game so far. Alvarez scoring with punches to the head and body. Visconti looking for subs off his back but Alvarez has passed one foot through into half guard.
Visconti is staying active underneath Alvarez, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alvarez drops an elbow to the side of Visconti's head. Visconti makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Visconti.

Sonny Visconti has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Miguel Alvarez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Alvarez is keen to just control but Visconti is a slippery customer.
