Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Harrison Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harrison Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kendall Alves!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy throws a right hand that Alves ducks under and follows up with a left that Alves also avoids with ease.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Hardy.
Hardy lands with a shot to the body.
Hardy throws a body punch but Alves moves out of range.
Alves dives in and grabs Hardy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hardy pushes down on Alves's head and hops out.
Alves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hardy but Hardy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Harrison Hardy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kendall Alves.
Hardy throws the left hand but Alves avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Hardy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kendall Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardy takes a swing at Alves's ribcage but misses.

Alves scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alves.
Hardy throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily.
Hardy misses the jab.
Alves is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hardy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Hardy throws a hook but Alves avoids it easily.
Alves shoots in for a takedown but Hardy shows good takedown defense.
Hardy takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Alves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Alves dives in and grabs Hardy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hardy pushes down on Alves's head and hops out.

Hardy jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Hardy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hardy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Alves is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hardy is thwarting Alves's attempts to control the position.

Alves keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Alves tries to get to full guard but Hardy has control of the leg.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Alves looks to move to half guard but instead Hardy has passed into mount! Damn!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hardy misses with a body shot

so Alves counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Alves wants to control from the top but Hardy keeps moving.

Hardy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alves manages to get himself to full guard.

Alves seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kendall Alves just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hardy misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Alves counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hardy!
Hardy is wriggling around trying to escape.

Alves jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hardy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hardy and Alves has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Alves has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Hardy is looking to get to half guard.

Hardy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Alves is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Alves lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardy has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Alves's lack of action.
Alves thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Alves is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hardy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Alves.

Alves passes to full mount!
Alves throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Hardy regains half guard.
Hardy tries to roll over but Alves keeps him under control.

Hardy looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Alves pushes past his half guard into mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendall Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Alves drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hardy dives on top into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hardy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.

Alves might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hardy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.

Alves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hardy looking for a sweep. Not yet Hardy, not yet.

Alves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hardy keeping moving, preventing Alves from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Alves swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Alves is trying to control but Hardy manages to pass to mount!
Hardy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Alves is trying desperately to improve position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Harrison Hardy.
I think Hardy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
