Alexander comes to the cage accompanied by Eminem-Not Afraid. Nino Marques will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marques tries to clinch but Alexander moves out of range.
Marques tries to close the distance and clinch but Alexander swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marques lands a head kick. Alexander smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Marques tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Alexander swats away the attempt to clinch by Marques.
Marques tries for a takedown but Alexander sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Marques takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Marques is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marques wants to clinch up but Alexander keeps it at a distance.
Marques pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alexander blocks a head kick by Marques.
Marques is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marques dodges the punch combination from Alexander.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Alexander, right into the meat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Marques is defended easily by Alexander.

Alexander clinches with his opponent.
Marques is trying to force a seperation but Alexander has the dominant position.

Alexander jumps guard and drags Marques to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alexander is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Alexander seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Alexander passes the guard and advances to mount!
Alexander scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
