Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Preston Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and de fool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Schmidli might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tenacious D - Tribute. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Preston Schmidli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, de fool! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! fool shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schmidli pinned against the cage. Schmidli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Schmidli cracks the inside of fool's front leg. fool will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Schmidli gets a takedown into half guard. fool looking for submissions from an awkward position here. fool pushes Schmidli off looking to stand but Schmidli dives back in and keeps control.
fool is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. fool is refusing to be controlled, as Schmidli sits in half guard. Schmidli slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmidli has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Schmidli's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. fool is trying to stand.
Schmidli stands up out of the half guard. Schmidli drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. fool tries to escape but Schmidli is in control. Schmidli wants to control but fool is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. fool wants to get back to his feet but Schmidli drags him back down. fool is looking for a sweep. Schmidli is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt fool will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. fool is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Schmidli asserts his dominance and retains side control. fool looks gassed! Schmidli controls the position. Schmidli trying to control the action but fool is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. fool misses with a takedown and Schmidli holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Preston Schmidli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of de fool.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmidli has clasped his hands together around fool's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. fool is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Schmidli is controlling him well. Schmidli working away. fool wants to get back to his feet. Schmidli wants to lay and pray for a moment but fool keeps working. Schmidli is really struggling to control fool but he's trying to hold on to the position. fool tries to escape but Schmidli is in control. fool is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. fool misses with a takedown and Schmidli holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Schmidli is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. fool can't fight it off and eventually Schmidli manages to take the fight to the floor. fool looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. fool uses the cage to get back to his feet.
fool with a poor takedown and Schmidli counters with a nice double leg into side control. fool won't be happy with that. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! fool being controlled for a moment. fool wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Preston Schmidli dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
fool gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. fool looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Schmidli is defending well. fool quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Schmidli has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! fool celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
