Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joey Slice acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Spart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joey Slice!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spart misses with a looping left.
Slice tries to clinch there but Spart circles away.
Slice lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Spart is trying hard to land a takedown here. Slice sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jack Spart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Spart counters with a shoot takedown. Slice fights it but they end up in guard.
Spart working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Slice's head.
Spart missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Spart drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Spart jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Spart is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Slice is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Slice has escaped and now he's on top!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slice throws a big right hand that misses.
Spart wants to stand and escape but Slice is having none of it.
Slice stands up over Spart, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Spart wants to get back to his feet but Slice is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Slice trying to control the position from guard on top but Spart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Spart wants to stand up but Slice is controlling him.
Slice is pushing down on Spart's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spart is fighting to maintain full guard but Slice has managed to sneak the leg through.

Spart is staying active underneath Slice, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Slice is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Spart!
Slice has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Slice has his takedown stuffed

and Spart counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Slice's guard now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spart accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Slice tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Spart is looking to clinch.

Spart clinches with his opponent.
Spart tries for a takedown. No joy.
Slice jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spart walks away with a smile on his face. Slice gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Slice tries to clinch but Spart moves out of range.
Slice connects with the punch.
Spart tries to close the distance and clinch but Slice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Spart avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Spart shoots in looking for a takedown. Slice tries to sprawl out of it but Spart keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slice manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
