Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Connor Bogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Melvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Bogan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Melvin! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Melvin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bogan controlling the position easily from mount. Melvin tries to hold on but Bogan postures up. Bogan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Melvin because Bogan loaded up on that one. Bogan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Melvin on the ground. Bogan goes for an armbar but Melvin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Melvin. Melvin wants to control from the top but Bogan keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Melvin tries to free his leg and advance position but Bogan is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melvin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Melvin forces his way into half guard. Melvin wants to work for an arm triangle but Bogan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Melvin prevents Bogan from improving his position. Melvin is trying to control the action in half guard but Bogan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bogan is concentrating on defense, preventing Melvin from advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Melvin moves into full mount! Bogan won't be happy about that! Melvin lands a heavy elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Melvin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Bogan holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Melvin tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Melvin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bogan wants to hold on but Melvin pushes him away. Bogan working to try and regain half guard.
Melvin throwing strikes here but Bogan is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Melvin is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Melvin misses with a takedown and Bogan counters with a two punch combo. Melvin has a takedown stuffed. Melvin looks gassed! The fight stays on the outside here - Melvin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Melvin fails with a takedown attempt. Connor Bogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Melvin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bogan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bogan wants to control from the top but Melvin keeps moving. Bogan wants to pass the guard but Melvin is keeping the position. Melvin is pulling down on Bogan's head. It's preventing any offense from Bogan, at least for the moment. Bogan is looking to work some ground and pound but Melvin has wrist control. Bogan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Melvin is trying to control the position but Bogan postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Michael Melvin will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Melvin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bogan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Melvin off and has taken his back! Melvin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Bogan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Bogan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Melvin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Melvin. Melvin wriggles free and stands up. Bogan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melvin swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melvin shoots in for a takedown but Bogan shows good takedown defense. Bogan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bogan doesn't manage to clinch there - Melvin circles away.
An inside leg kick lands from Melvin. Bogan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Melvin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Melvin wants to take a breather but Bogan is having none of it. Melvin frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Melvin stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Melvin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bogan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Melvin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bogan is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Melvin moves in looking to clinch but Bogan pushes him off. Bogan with a lazy takedown attempt and Melvin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Connor Bogan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Melvin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bogan can't fight it off and eventually Melvin manages to take the fight to the floor. Bogan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Bogan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Melvin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bogan is proving hard to escape from. Melvin trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Bogan manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Melvin looking for a guillotine here but Bogan defends easily.
Melvin throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bogan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bogan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Melvin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bogan.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Melvin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bogan as he jumps to the side. Bogan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Melvin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Melvin is not content to let Bogan control the position. Bogan working Melvin over with strikes. Melvin gets full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Melvin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Bogan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Melvin counters with a nice double leg into guard. Melvin won't allow Bogan to get back to his feet. Melvin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bogan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Melvin works over Bogan with some ground and pound from guard. Melvin looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Melvin works a leg free and moves into half guard. Bogan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bogan tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Melvin working Bogan over with strikes. Melvin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Melvin is looking to take a break and control but Bogan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Melvin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bogan defends it well.

The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bogan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Melvin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bogan defending well though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Melvin tries for a takedown but Bogan circles away easily and Bogan counters with a shoot takedown. Melvin fights it but they end up in guard. Bogan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Melvin keeping moving, preventing Bogan from controlling successfully. Bogan throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Melvin pulls Bogan in close to prevent any damage. Melvin controls Bogan momentarily but Bogan frees himself. Bogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bogan tries to free his leg and advance position but Melvin is retaining full guard. Bogan throws a strike but Melvin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Melvin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Melvin fails with the takedown. Bogan throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Melvin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Connor Bogan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Melvin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Connor Bogan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Melvin takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bogan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Michael Melvin. I've got Melvin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
