Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Reyne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Harp!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Harp is defended easily by Reyne.

Harp scores a takedown into full mount!
Harp manages to capitalize on a mistake by Reyne to take his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harp is not going to allow Reyne to sit and survive in this position.
Reyne staying busy and making it hard for Harp to control.
Reyne is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Reyne trying to get back to his feet but Harp is in full control for now.

Harp is controlling the position but Reyne somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Reyne moves in looking to clinch but Harp pushes him off.

and Harp counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harp.

Harp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Harp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reyne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reyne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harp is controlling him.

Reyne working for a triangle but Harp defends it easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Reyne slips under a jab.
Harp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Harp moves into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Harp working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Reyne is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

and Reyne counters by clinching up.

Reyne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Reyne throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Harp counters with a takedown into side control.

Harp decides to stand back up.
Reyne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harp was well out of range. Poor timing from Reyne.
Harp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Reyne darts in trying to clinch

and Harp counters with a single leg into guard. Reyne didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harp tries to free his leg and advance position but Reyne is retaining full guard.
Reyne keeping moving, preventing Harp from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harp is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Harp is breathing heavily.
Reyne will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Harp trying to stand up but can't free himself from Reyne's guard.
Reyne manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Reyne jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Harp is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Harp and Reyne has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harp struggling a bit here.

Reyne is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harp has escaped the position, nice work there.
Harp can't do much from the bottom here.

Harp is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Reyne's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Harp is trying to maintain the position but Reyne is very close to passing his half guard.
Reyne wants to stand but Harp has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Reyne shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Harp counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Harp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Harp wants to control from the top but Reyne keeps moving.

Reyne looking to control.
Harp is pushing down on Reyne's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reyne is fighting to maintain full guard but Harp has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reyne is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Harp's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harp's back!
Harp has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Reyne misses with a punch to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Harp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Reyne with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Harp to score with a decent uppercut.
Harp tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reyne swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Harp tries to clinch but Reyne moves out of range.
Harp shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reyne pinned against the cage. Reyne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Harp defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reyne.
Harp shoots in for a takedown but Reyne shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harp throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Reyne is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Reyne wants to control his opponent's hands but Harp gets his hands free.
Reyne is keeping busy.
Reyne is trying to get back to his feet but Harp has full control of the position and if anything, Reyne has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Reyne counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jason Reyne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Michael Harp is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jason Reyne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harp shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Reyne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
