Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Davenport (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emong Cordero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davenport comes to the cage accompanied by Ruff Ryders - World War III. Emong Cordero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Davenport! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emong Cordero! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cordero throws a head kick that misses. Cordero throws a head kick that misses. Cordero misses with a head kick.
Davenport blocks a head kick by Cordero.
Davenport drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Davenport looking to pass the guard. Cordero preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Davenport postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Davenport thows a big elbow that misses. Cordero pushes Davenport off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davenport drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davenport throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Davenport has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Davenport in side control, throwing shots but Cordero defends. Davenport works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Davenport throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Cordero works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Davenport tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cordero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cordero looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davenport wants to take a breather but Cordero is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davenport stops Cordero from getting back to his feet.
Davenport works his way into full mount! Cordero looks gassed! Davenport misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Davenport lands with some strikes. Cordero blocking the ground and pound. Davenport working the ground and pound effectively.
Davenport lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Davenport looking to ground and pound but Cordero is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Davenport dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Davenport shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cordero is trying to defend but Davenport finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cordero avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davenport. Davenport scoring with strikes to the body and head. Davenport thows a huge punch but Cordero dodges it nicely.
Davenport uses his free foot to push down on Cordero's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cordero. Cordero is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davenport unloads with some shots from mount but Cordero bucks and avoids them well.
Davenport takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Davenport misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Cordero that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Davenport landing strikes, looking to finish! Davenport swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Cordero is now in Davenport's guard. A big mistake from Davenport there, giving up the dominant position! Davenport pulls Cordero in close to prevent any damage. Davenport on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davenport tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davenport's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Cordero tries to stand but Davenport is controlling from the bottom. Cordero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Davenport escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cordero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davenport tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Davenport dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Cordero throws a sloppy head kick and Davenport moves out of range easily. Cordero tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Some wild striking there from Cordero.
Cordero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Davenport showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cordero.
Davenport shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cordero manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cordero preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cordero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davenport. Cordero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Davenport wants to pass the guard but Cordero is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cordero avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Davenport wants to control from the top but Cordero keeps moving. Davenport is looking to work some ground and pound but Cordero has wrist control. Cordero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cordero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Davenport feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Davenport is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Davenport postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Davenport wants to pass the guard but Cordero is keeping the position. Davenport trying to control the position from guard on top but Cordero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cordero preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Davenport postures up in Cordero's guard and throws a big left but Cordero blocks it. Davenport drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cordero manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davenport has Cordero in his guard. Davenport looking for a sweep. Not yet Davenport, not yet. Emong Cordero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jason Davenport is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davenport is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that's the end of the fight! Jason Davenport showed his dominance in that final round. Well Davenport has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
