Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Allistair Overeen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Yvel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gilbert Yvel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allistair Overeen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilbert Yvel! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Overeen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Overeen pushes Yvel up against the ropes in a clinch. Overeen lands an elbow inside. Yvel ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yvel no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Overeen slips nicely into half guard. Yvel trying to control but Overeen postures up.
Overeen is trying to control the action in half guard but Yvel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Overeen decides to return to a standing position. Overeen scores a takedown into full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yvel can do anything to dispel that myth. Overeen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Yvel looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Overeen landing shots from mount. Overeen is working for a guillotine from mount but Yvel frees his head quite easily.
Overeen scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Overeen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Overeen stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. A combination from Overeen does no damage. Overeen shoots in but no luck this time. Yvel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Overeen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Yvel is keen to just control but Overeen is a slippery customer. Overeen trying to hold on to Yvel's head to control him but Yvel postures up.
Yvel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Overeen gets back to full guard.
Yvel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Overeen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yvel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Overeen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Yvel preventing the sweep.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Overeen tries to clinch up. Yvel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Overeen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. An elbow from Yvel crashes against the mat.
Yvel in side control lands a decent elbow. Yvel postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yvel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Yvel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Overeen is trying desperately to improve position. Yvel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Overeen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Overeen and Yvel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Overeen can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Allistair Overeen will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Overeen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yvel to score an easy takedown into full guard. Overeen is looking to stand up but Yvel isn't so interested in that idea. Overeen controls Yvel momentarily but Yvel frees himself. Yvel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Overeen is keeping the position for now. Overeen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Overeen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Overeen tries to control but Yvel wriggling away. Overeen fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Overeen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Yvel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Overeen napping and manages to drive through into side control! Yvel is looking to take a break and control but Overeen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Yvel working away. Yvel just content to control the position. Yvel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overeen keeps working. Yvel has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Yvel gets a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yvel is trying to force a seperation but Overeen has the dominant position. Overeen wants a takedown.
Yvel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Overeen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Yvel shoots and misses and Overeen counters with a single leg into guard. Yvel didn't expect that. Overeen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Yvel is proving hard to escape from. Yvel is looking to stand up but Overeen isn't so interested in that idea. Overeen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Overeen trying to control the position from guard on top but Yvel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Overeen lands a couple of decent looking shots. Yvel keeping moving, preventing Overeen from controlling successfully. Yvel is looking to stand up but Overeen isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Allistair Overeen will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Yvel wants to stand and escape but instead Overeen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Overeen postures up in Yvel's guard and throws a big left but Yvel blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Overeen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Overeen works a leg free and moves into half guard. Overeen is working for a submission of some sort.
Overeen is looking to take a break and control but Yvel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yvel slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Overeen wanted to stand there but Yvel had control of the position. Overeen trying to control but Yvel is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Yvel keeping full guard, as Overeen tries to pass. Yvel has his foot on Overeen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Overeen works his way back into a safe position though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Overeen throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Overeen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Yvel looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yvel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Overeen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Overeen wriggles free and stands up. Yvel with a poor takedown and Overeen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Overeen. Overeen wants to pass the guard but Yvel is keeping the position. Yvel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Overeen is one step ahead there. Overeen wants to control from the top but Yvel keeps moving.

Overeen trying to control but Yvel is working from the bottom. Overeen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Allistair Overeen. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Overeen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
