Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, bo myers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Sampson! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sampson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. myers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
myers misses with the combination.
myers fails with the takedown. Sampson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. myers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sampson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sampson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. myers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sampson keeps working. Sampson has his hands clasped together around myers's back. He's all about the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson is looking for a sweep. myers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. myers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
myers seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. myers is trying to control. Sampson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sampson manages to get to full guard.
Sampson keeping moving, preventing myers from controlling successfully. Sampson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. myers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sampson clinches up against the cage. Sampson has picked myers up - he's going for a ride! Sampson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. myers is trying to get back to full guard. Sampson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sampson is trying to control the action in half guard but myers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sampson looks gassed! Sampson winds up and cracks myers with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Sampson prevents myers from standing back up.
myers is looking for a sweep. Sampson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sampson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but myers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. myers manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sampson lands a couple of digs. Sampson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sampson is looking to work some ground and pound but myers has wrist control. Sampson throwing strikes from guard but myers blocks nicely. Sampson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. myers looking for a guillotine here but Sampson defends easily.
myers is trying to keep Sampson in close.

A close round but Greg Sampson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
myers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sampson, pushing him back against the cage. Sampson wants a takedown.
Sampson has myers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. myers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. myers lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Sampson goes for a takedown in the clinch but myers prevents it.
bo myers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Sampson. Sampson is pressed up against the cage. myers has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sampson down to the mat. Sampson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Horrible takedown by Sampson or perhaps it was just good defense by myers which made him look bad. myers doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sampson counters with a nice double leg into guard. myers is trying to control the position but Sampson postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. myers is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sampson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. myers wants to sweep but no luck. myers wants to stand but Sampson is controlling the position. Sampson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Sampson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sampson throwing strikes but missing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. myers fails in his attempt to clinch. Sampson tries to clinch up. bo myers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. myers fails with the takedown. Sampson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sampson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Sampson is trying to control. myers wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. myers wants to control but Sampson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sampson is trying to control the action in half guard but myers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sampson misses with a double jab.
No joy there for myers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sampson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming myers to the mat! myers manages to get full guard. Sampson trying to control the position from guard on top but myers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sampson controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Sampson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Sampson chips away with some ground and pound. Sampson with a flurry of punches that miss. myers trying to control the position.
Sampson won't allow myers to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Sampson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
myers tries to clinch up. myers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sampson's half guard. myers passes the guard and advances to mount! Sampson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sampson is trying to reverse the position but instead myers has taken his back - oops!
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Sampson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
myers slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
myers is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sampson is defending well though. myers let's go of the attempt for now. myers tries to get the hooks in deep but Sampson pushed the leg off. Sampson trying to control the hands but myers won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. myers looking for the choke but no joy. Greg Sampson has got the better of the ground game so far. Sampson just trying to survive but myers is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Even with his hooks in, myers manages to miss with strikes from the back. myers missing with strikes from the back. Sampson tries to escape but myers has the hooks in and won't let him break free. myers controlling from the back. myers has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sampson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sampson has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from myers. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sampson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Sampson won't allow myers to pass to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! bo myers showed his dominance in that final round. I think Sampson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
