Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Thomas! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams scores a takedown into full mount! Williams throwing strikes here but Thomas is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Thomas's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Thomas working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas taking shots to the head. Thomas tries to reverse the position but Williams maintains control. Thomas manages to regain half guard. Good work. Thomas holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Thomas is refusing to be controlled, as Williams sits in half guard. Thomas moves into full guard.
Thomas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas working away from the top, dropping strikes. Thomas content just to control the position here. Thomas trying to control but he's not successful this time. Williams is breathing heavily. Thomas lands a nice shot to the head. Thomas looking to control but Williams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Thomas connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Thomas breaks from Williams's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas landing strikes from the mount. Thomas dominating with strikes here. Thomas prevents Williams from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas lands a big shot there that rocks Williams but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Williams wants to hold on but Thomas pushes him away. Thomas landing punches. Thomas is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Williams has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Thomas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams taking shots to the head. Thomas trying to control but Williams is having none of it. Thomas raining down shots from the mount! A nice elbow there by Thomas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Thomas dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A head kick misses from Williams. Williams changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thomas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Thomas gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Thomas wants to control but Williams is keeping busy and won't allow it. Thomas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back! Thomas lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Williams hold on?!
I would not like to be Williams right now.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Williams with him. Williams is trying to defend but Thomas has an arm under the chin now! Williams grimaces and is forced to tap out!
