Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gravy Train! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kent Ortega! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortega tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Train paws at him with a jab and circles away. Train keeps the fight on the outside. Ortega moves in looking to clinch but Train pushes him off. Ortega tries to clinch but Train moves out of range. Ortega tries to close the distance and clinch but Train swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ortega is looking to clinch. Train avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Train keeps the fight on the outside. Train circles away from the clinch attempt.
Train throws a wild body kick that Ortega sees coming a mile off. Train misses with a few strikes there.
Ortega throws a head kick but Train moves out of range.

Ortega wants to clinch up but Train keeps it at a distance. Train looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortega can do anything to dispel that myth. Train thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ortega to regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Train wants to control from the top but Ortega keeps moving. Ortega working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Train. Train is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Train stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ortega swivels though and keeps the full guard. Train drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ortega dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ortega would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Train throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Train has his foot on Ortega's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ortega works his way back into a safe position though. Train working a defensive guard but Ortega manages to pass into side control anyway.
Ortega decides to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ortega gets a clinch. Ortega manages to break the clinch.
Ortega tries to clinch up but Train circles away and keeps his distance. Ortega closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ortega breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Train wants to advance to full mount but Ortega doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Train wants to pass the guard but Ortega is keeping the position. Ortega kicks Train off and gets to his feet. Ortega tries to close the distance and clinch up but Train swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ortega tries to clinch but Train is having none of it. Train avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Train trying to mount his opponent but Ortega defends it. Train passes the guard and advances to mount! Train tries to control but Ortega wriggling away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ortega's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Train trying to control but he's not successful this time. Train throwing strikes here but Ortega is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gravy Train dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Ortega wants to clinch and Train counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ortega is lucky that one didn't land flush. Ortega tries to clinch but fails miserably and Train counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ortega fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ortega wants to clinch and Train counters with a thumping low kick. Train moves in looking to clinch but Ortega pushes him off. Train avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Train shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Train misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Train attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Train fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ortega sprawls well initially but Train persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gravy Train overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ortega tries to kick Train off but Train keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ortega makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Ortega closes the distance and clinches. Ortega pressing his opponent against the cage. Ortega pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortega tries to clinch but Train is having none of it. Ortega tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Train keeps the fight on the outside. Ortega has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ortega breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Train throws a leg kick which misses Ortega's front leg but catches the back leg as Ortega tries to avoid it. Ortega tries to clinch up and Train counters with a nice double leg into guard. Train trying to control the position from guard on top but Ortega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ortega pushes Train off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortega tries to clinch but Train moves out of range. Kent Ortega is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ortega closes the distance but Train moves to the side and Train counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Ortega breaks the clinch.
