Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cassius Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cassius Brown!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Brown. No joy for Banner on that attempt.
Banner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brown looks to land a left hand but Banner moved out of range nicely.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Banner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brown throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Banner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab.

Brown breaks from the clinch.

Brown moves into range and clinches up with Banner.
Brown gets underhooks to prevent Banner's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Banner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banner tries to score a body lock takedown but Brown shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Brown manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Brown scores with a shoulder strike.

The referee calls for Brown to work.
Brown continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Brown manages to break the clinch.
Brown misses with a straight left.
Banner shoots in and drives through. Brown sprawls well.
Banner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brown.
Banner fails to land the takedown.
Banner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Banner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Banner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brown sprawls well initially but Banner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Banner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Banner is breathing heavily.

Banner is working for a kimura here but Brown manages to reverse the position and he's now in Banner's guard.
Banner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Banner is looking for a triangle here but Brown uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Brown tests Banner's chin there with a solid looking shot.

and Brown counters with a straight right hand.

Banner circles away from the clinch attempt.

Banner gets the takedown into side control.
Brown prevents Banner from improving position.

Banner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brown has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Banner but great work by Brown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cassius Brown dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Banner wants to work for an arm triangle but Brown is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Banner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brown knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Banner works his way into full mount!
Banner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Banner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brown manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Brown tries to buck Banner off but Banner is having none of it.
Banner advances to full mount.

Banner moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Brown has worked his arm free - good work by Brown!
Banner tries to advance to mount but Brown denies him.

Banner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown is trying to control Banner's posture but Banner avoids it.
Banner is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Banner advances to full mount.

Brown gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Banner wants to take Brown's back but he can't do it this time.
Banner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brown is looking to escape.

Banner jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Brown is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Brown and Banner has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Banner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Banner shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Banner is just content to waste time from the top position. Brown takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Banner tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.
Banner is pushing down on Brown's leg trying to pass to half guard. Brown is fighting to maintain full guard but Banner has managed to sneak the leg through.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner uses his free foot to push down on Brown's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brown.
