Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denver Bull! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bull shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spat defends it nicely. Bull tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bull wants to clinch. Spat moves into the clinch. Bull ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bull no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Bull manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spat manages to get himself to full guard.
Spat is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Spat trying to control the action but Bull is working from the bottom. Bull is looking to improve his position.
Spat is trying to control the action in half guard but Bull is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bull is trying is best to control the position here. Bull is trying to control but can't.
Bull regains full guard. Nicely done. Spat is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Spat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bull looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bull is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Spat advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Spat has hold of Bull's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bull seems comfortable defending it but Spat has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bull is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bull is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Spat couldn't care less - he's delighted!
