1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rusty Shackleford! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Shackleford looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Shackleford looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Jackson shoots in but no luck this time. Shackleford stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson shoots in and drives through. Shackleford sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shackleford keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shackleford keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jackson looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jackson shoots in but Shackleford avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Jackson is working for takedown but Shackleford is calmly controlling the position for now. Jackson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Shackleford prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shackleford pulls him back up using the underhooks. Shackleford using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Shackleford pulls guard effortlessly. Jackson wants to control from the top but Shackleford keeps moving. Shackleford has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Shackleford is keeping the position. Shackleford wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control but Shackleford is working from the bottom. Jackson forces his way into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson works his foot free and advances to mount. Jackson controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jackson trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rusty Shackleford dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown. Shackleford tries to sprawl out of it but Jackson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shackleford manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jackson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shackleford circles away. Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shackleford but Shackleford pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shackleford as he jumps to the side. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Shackleford shows good takedown defense. Nice takedown defense from Shackleford. No joy for Jackson on that attempt. Shackleford fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage. Shackleford jumps into guard, dragging Jackson to the mat.
Shackleford is looking for a triangle here but Jackson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jackson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Shackleford's shoulder. That is not cool. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shackleford tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. A lull in the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shackleford is trying to break free.
Jackson trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson struggling to keep hold of the position.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Andrew Jackson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Jackson controls the position. Shackleford looking for a sweep but Jackson has passed into full mount! Oh no! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shackleford is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shackleford's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Jackson dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Jackson tries to clinch but Shackleford moves away and Shackleford counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jackson's guard now. Jackson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shackleford. Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jackson content to control rather than advance. Shackleford is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Shackleford takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shackleford doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson. Shackleford is staying active underneath Jackson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shackleford! Jackson controlling from the full mount. Shackleford is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson looking to control but Shackleford is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jackson controlling from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Andrew Jackson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt and Shackleford counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that. Jackson sneaks back into half guard. Jackson manages to get to full guard.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Rusty Shackleford comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shackleford has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
