Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jin Lau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Perry Pattenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jin Lau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perry Pattenson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick from Pattenson misses. Lau swats away the attempt to clinch by Pattenson. Pattenson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Perry Pattenson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pattenson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lau pinned against the cage. Lau gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pattenson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pattenson showed some decent athleticism there. Lau looking for submissions off his back. It looks like Pattenson is going to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pattenson throwing shots but Lau is blocking nicely. Nice strikes from Pattenson there. Pattenson wants to free his trapped foot but Lau is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lau is trying to stand up here but Pattenson is controlling him well. Pattenson wants to stand but Lau has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Lau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lau shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pattenson napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pattenson struggling a bit here. Pattenson tries to bench press Lau off him but Lau keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lau wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pattenson, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lau tries for a kimura but Pattenson is defending well. Lau is breathing heavily. Pattenson tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Pattenson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pattenson is trying to improve his position. Lau tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lau has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lau working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Pattenson is trying to control Lau's posture but Lau avoids it. Lau looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pattenson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lau misses with a takedown attempt and Pattenson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pattenson fails with the takedown and Lau counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lau.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pattenson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Pattenson throws a nice elbow from the bottom. Pattenson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lau off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Lau keeps the fight on the outside. Pattenson tries to clinch there but Lau circles away.
Lau with a lazy takedown attempt so Pattenson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pattenson wanted to stand there but Lau had control of the position. Pattenson stays in close to Lau's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Perry Pattenson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pattenson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Lau counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pattenson trying to hold on to Lau's head to control him but Lau postures up.
Pattenson lands with a few short shots to the body. Lau is trying to work for a kimura but Pattenson is defending well.
Pattenson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lau tries to pass to full mount but Pattenson defends it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pattenson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lau looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lau gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pattenson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lau has momentary wrist control but Pattenson slips an elbow through the middle. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pattenson wants to control from the top but Lau keeps moving. Lau has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pattenson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pattenson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pattenson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lau keeping moving, preventing Pattenson from controlling successfully. Lau has his foot on Pattenson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pattenson works his way back into a safe position though. Perry Pattenson has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pattenson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Pattenson tries to close the distance and clinch but Lau swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Pattenson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Pattenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lau swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pattenson stays in close to Lau's body and controls the position. Lau is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pattenson is aware though and is defending well. Lau isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pattenson stacks Lau on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pattenson! Pattenson is looking to take a break and control but Lau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pattenson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lau kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lau is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Pattenson is putting a hurting on Lau here, landing some big shots from side control. Lau tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pattenson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pattenson controls the position from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Perry Pattenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Pattenson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lau moves away. Pattenson tries to clinch and Lau counters with a left and a right that stings Pattenson. Lau blocks a low kick nicely. Lau shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Pattenson wants to hold on but Lau pushes him away. Lau jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pattenson manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pattenson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Lau off and has taken his back! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pattenson scores with punches and elbows. Pattenson lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Lau.

Pattenson lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. Pattenson trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Lau turns into Pattenson and is now in his guard.
Pattenson is looking to stand up but Lau isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pattenson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lau drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pattenson dives on top into guard. Lau is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pattenson defends well. Pattenson trying to control but Lau is working from the bottom. Pattenson sitting in guard here, content to control. Lau keeping moving, preventing Pattenson from controlling successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Perry Pattenson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pattenson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Lau decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lau is looking for a kimura but Pattenson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lau to get the leverage. Pattenson works his way to full guard. Good work. Lau has gone for a leg lock! Pattenson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lau's guard. Pattenson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pattenson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pattenson trying to control but Lau is working from the bottom. Pattenson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pattenson looking to pass the guard. Lau is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pattenson defends well. Jin Lau has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lau looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lau has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pattenson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lau.
And that's the end of the fight! Jin Lau showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pattenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
