Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Hugg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Hugg! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hugg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dixon is stalling in the full guard. Dixon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dixon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hugg's guard. Hugg lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dixon!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hugg prevents Dixon from getting the reversal. Hugg trying to control but Dixon is having none of it. Hugg misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Dixon tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hugg sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dixon manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Hugg manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hugg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dixon's guard. Hugg decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dixon, up you get! Dixon tries to clinch but Hugg moves out of range. Dixon drives through with a takedown into guard. Dixon won't allow Hugg to sweep him here. Dixon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Dixon is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon wanted to stand there but Hugg had control of the position. Dixon is looking to advance position but Hugg has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Dixon wants to control but Hugg is having none of it. Dixon wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hugg.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Dixon will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hugg swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hugg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dixon is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dixon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Dixon moves in looking to clinch but Hugg pushes him off. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hugg. A head kick misses from Hugg. Hugg leaves Dixon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hugg scores with a nice strike. Dixon takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Dixon tries to close the distance and clinch but Hugg swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hugg throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. Hugg lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hugg misses with a hook. and Dixon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dixon is trying to drag Hugg to the mat but Hugg just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hugg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dixon throws a head kick but Hugg moves out of range.

Andy Hugg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dixon closes the distance and clinches. Hugg is looking to break free of the clinch but Dixon has double underhooks. Hugg breaks from the clinch.
Dixon gets the takedown into side control. Dixon swings around for an armbar but Hugg sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dixon's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hugg is not content to let Dixon control the position. Dixon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hugg's head. Dixon working Hugg over with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dixon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Hugg is trying to stand up here but Dixon is controlling him well. Dixon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hugg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dixon looking to sit in guard and control but Hugg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Dixon. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dixon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
