Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perry Pattenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Wrestler! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pattenson is looking to clinch but Wrestler is avoiding it.
Wrestler misses with a two punch combination.
Pattenson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pattenson checks a leg kick nicely. Wrestler misses with an attempted mid kick.
Wrestler throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pattenson was covering up waiting for the punch and Wrestler finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wrestler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wrestler stands up and we're back to a striking position. Wrestler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pattenson counters with a nice uppercut. Pattenson fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrestler shoots in looking for a takedown. Pattenson tries to sprawl out of it but Wrestler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pattenson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A low kick from Wrestler misses and Pattenson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Pattenson is looking to clinch but Wrestler is avoiding it.

Pattenson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pattenson tries to bum rush Wrestler with a series of wild strikes but Wrestler uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pattenson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Pattenson preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wrestler is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Wrestler stops a takedown attempt from Pattenson.

Wrestler gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wrestler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pattenson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pattenson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pattenson! Wrestler striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Wrestler is pushing Pattenson's head away, looking to escape. Pattenson manages to hold on to the position though. Wrestler is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pattenson wants to stand up but Wrestler has a hold of him and won't allow it. Wrestler is pressing down on Pattenson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wrestler is looking to stand up but Pattenson isn't so interested in that idea. Pattenson is looking to work some ground and pound but Wrestler has wrist control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wrestler can do anything to dispel that myth. Wrestler wants to sweep but no luck. Wrestler keeping moving, preventing Pattenson from controlling successfully. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pattenson tries to clinch up but Wrestler circles away and keeps his distance. A slapping leg kick lands for Pattenson.
Wrestler bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wrestler has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pattenson! Pattenson is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wrestler cracks Pattenson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Perry Pattenson has been cut. Pattenson is breathing heavily. BOOM! Wrestler connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Pattenson is desperately trying to improve his position but Wrestler has a good base and remains in mount. Wrestler is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pattenson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
