Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mohammed Akbar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Liddell! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akbar misses with a straight right. Liddell scores with a jab to the body. Akbar shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddell but Liddell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Akbar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liddell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. You can see the frustration on Liddell's face as Akbar controls the position. Liddell is working to avoid the ground and pound but Akbar connects with a decent elbow. Akbar is staying tight to Liddell's torso, preventing him from escaping. Akbar tries for a kimura but Liddell is defending well. Akbar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Liddell has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akbar tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Liddell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akbar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Liddell defending against the ground and pound. Akbar working the head with strikes. Liddell gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Akbar is breathing heavily. Akbar jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Liddell is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Liddell and Akbar has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akbar controlling the position from side mount. Akbar throws an elbow but Liddell slips to the side and avoids it well. Akbar scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Liddell to see if he's OK. Akbar tries to advance to mount but Liddell denies him. Akbar working the ground and pound but Liddell is defending the strikes. Sloppy strikes there by Akbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Akbar are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Liddell avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Akbar.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Liddell knocks Akbar to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!? Akbar tries to improve position but can't. Akbar throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Akbar is looking for a sweep. Akbar sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akbar is trying is best to control the position here. Akbar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Akbar tries to get to full guard but Liddell has control of the leg. Akbar gets full guard. Liddell is sitting in close to Akbar's body. Akbar has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Liddell is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Liddell is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Akbar.
