Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Said Ataev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo has chosen Johnny Bravo as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bravo stuffs the takedown attempt from Ataev. Ataev gets slowly back to his feet. Bravo tries to close the distance and clinch but Ataev swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bravo tries to clinch up but Ataev circles away and keeps his distance. Ataev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ataev gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ataev managing to block the knees to the body from Bravo.
Bravo lands a nice uppercut. Bravo lands a right hand. A short right from Bravo on the inside. Bravo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ataev is trying to keep an underhook but Bravo manages to get the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bravo working the head and body with strikes. You can't force these things though and Bravo defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ataev tries to land a sweep but no joy. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ataev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bravo defends it easily. Ataev is breathing heavily. Bravo trying to control but Ataev is working from the bottom. Ataev is trying to keep Bravo in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bravo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ataev manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Bravo wants to control from the top but Ataev keeps moving. Ataev trying to keep a closed guard but Bravo is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bravo distracts Ataev with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bravo is working Ataev over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bravo scoring with punches to the head and body. Bravo landing some decent shots from guard. Ataev not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bravo thows a big elbow that misses. Bravo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ataev is keeping the position for now. Bravo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bravo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bravo is working Ataev over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bravo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ataev works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bravo with a flurry of punches that miss. Bravo trying to control but Ataev is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bravo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bravo lands a hook that snaps the head of Ataev backwards. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bravo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Bravo stops a takedown attempt from Ataev.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Said Ataev. That's going to take a lot out of him. A short right hand to the side of the head by Bravo. Bravo has hold of one of Ataev's legs. Bravo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bravo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ataev wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bravo connects with a nice short shot to Ataev's temple. Ataev is refusing to be controlled, as Bravo sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Bravo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bravo can do anything to dispel that myth. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

And that's the end of the fight! Johnny Bravo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bravo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
