Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sidney Crosby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yap has chosen Tubthumping as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sidney Crosby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Yap! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crosby misses with a wild combination.
Yap closes this distance looking for a takedown but Crosby circles away. Some wild striking there from Yap.
A big right from Crosby misses. Crosby shoots for a takedown but Yap saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Crosby misses with a double jab
and Yap counters with a nice double leg into guard. Crosby looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yap is one step ahead there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crosby is on top in guard.
Crosby wants to pass the guard but Yap is keeping the position. Crosby scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Yap seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crosby chips away with some ground and pound. Crosby trying to control but Yap is working from the bottom. Crosby throws and elbow that misses. Yap uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Crosby's guard. Nice move by Yap! Crosby tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Yap's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Crosby has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yap is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Crosby is looking for a triangle but Yap pushes his legs off easily.

Crosby drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Yap manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Crosby has Yap in his guard. Crosby can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yap controls the pace. Yap working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Yap preventing the sweep. Yap trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Yap wants to control from the top but Crosby keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Crosby falls off balance throwing a combination
and Yap counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Crosby! Crosby tries to lock up and control but Yap gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Yap lands a big elbow. Crosby is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yap looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Crosby sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crosby has hold of Yap's hands but Yap slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Crosby landing strikes from the bottom. Crosby is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yap's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yap's back! Even with his hooks in, Crosby manages to miss with strikes from the back. Yap rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Crosby throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Crosby is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Crosby is looking to advance position but Yap has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Yap dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Yap counters with a right hand to the body. Crosby looks for a takedown but Yap sprawls well. Yap keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sidney Crosby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yap shoots for a double leg takedown but Crosby sprawls well. He's pushed Yap's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A big left from Crosby misses. Crosby moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Jay Yap has been cut. Crosby falls off balance throwing a combination
and Yap counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crosby won't be happy with that. Crosby defending against the ground and pound. Yap trying to control the action but Crosby is working from the bottom. Crosby manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Crosby sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Yap defending well though. Crosby is working for a kimura but Yap is defending it quite comfortably.
Crosby is trying to control the action in half guard but Yap is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Crosby is really struggling to control Yap but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Crosby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yap decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crosby's guard. Yap got a little sloppy there for a moment and Crosby has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yap has managed to get both his arms back between Crosby's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yap lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yap stands up from Crosby's guard - Yap perhaps looking for a knockout. Crosby throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Yap counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Crosby missing with punches from the bottom.
Crosby is looking for a sweep. Yap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Crosby is working hard here to advance position. Crosby is defending against the submission attempts here by Yap.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yap not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yap is trying to control. Crosby wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Yap tries to stand and escape but Crosby is controlling the position. Crosby actively working from the bottom here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Crosby scores with a crisp jab that stopped Yap in his tracks. Crosby misses with a body shot.

Crosby wants to pass the guard but Yap is keeping the position. Jay Yap has got the better of the ground game so far. Crosby drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Crosby jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Yap wants to stand and escape but Crosby is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yap looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jay Yap showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jay Yap's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Yap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crosby tries to avoid it but Yap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crosby to the ground. Crosby escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Crosby falls off balance throwing a combination

Crosby wants to control but Yap is having none of it. Yap punishing his opponent with strikes. Yap is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Crosby has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Crosby! Crosby is looking to work some ground and pound but Yap has wrist control. Yap takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Crosby postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crosby trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Yap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Crosby preventing the sweep. Crosby tries to free his leg and advance position but Yap is retaining full guard. Crosby content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Crosby drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Crosby jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Crosby slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Crosby cracks Yap with an elbow. That is naaassty. Crosby thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Crosby tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crosby in side control, throwing shots but Yap defends. Yap is trying to get back to half guard. Crosby tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Yap really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crosby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yap takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Yap is looking to regain half guard here but Crosby keeps moving and retains side control. Yap regains half guard, as Crosby was trying to land strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yap is looking to escape. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Crosby lands a nice short elbow. Crosby is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Sidney Crosby has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Crosby working the ground and pound effectively.
Crosby has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Yap's face.
Yap tries to lock up and control but Crosby gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Yap is squirming around, avoiding Crosby's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crosby dominating with strikes here. BOOM! Crosby connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Yap is rocked! Crosby has control of Yap's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yap regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Yap is still in real trouble! Can Crosby finish him? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crosby scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Yap?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yap is in a horrible position here. Crosby smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Yap seems to have recovered his senses. Crosby lands a nice shot to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Sidney Crosby showed his dominance in that final round. I think Yap has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
