PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuwai Kapiks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Flink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flink is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Crank That. Flink has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Magnus Flink is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapiks throws a nice looking combination but Flink bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Flink shoots for a double leg takedown but Kapiks sprawls well. He's pushed Flink's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Flink swats away the attempt to clinch by Kapiks.

Flink gets caught flat footed, as Kapiks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kapiks pushes down on Flink's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kapiks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Flink is looking for a sweep. Kapiks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kapiks is in close to Flink's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kapiks stands and throws Flink's legs to the side, diving into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Flink had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kapiks defends it easily.

Flink isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kapiks stacks Flink on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kapiks!

Kapiks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Flink has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kapiks has managed to get both his arms back between Flink's legs - danger averted.
