Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donnie Jeremy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Rua! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jeremy kicks Rua off and gets back to his feet. Jeremy wants to clinch. Jeremy stuffs the takedown. Jeremy fails in his attempt to clinch. Rua fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jeremy doesn't manage to clinch there - Rua circles away.
Jeremy has his takedown stuffed and Rua counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jeremy is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jeremy is trying to control but Rua manages to pass to mount!

Jeremy is looking to improve his position but Rua isn't that keen on the idea. Rua tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jeremy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rua avoids the attempt from Jeremy to control. Jeremy tries to reverse the position but Rua maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jeremy has worked his arm free - good work by Jeremy!
Jeremy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jeremy is breathing heavily. Jeremy is trying to get back to his feet. Rua should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rua has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jeremy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rua yanks on the arm and Jeremy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rua.
