Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Carlton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Severn's entrance music is Pride FC Theme. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Severn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronnie Carlton!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn avoids a punch combination nicely.
Severn thows a left - swing and a miss!
Carlton looks to throw the jab but Severn is out of range.
Carlton connects with a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Severn. Carlton does a little dance to reset his feet.
A telegraphed right hand from Severn misses the target.
A slow jab from Severn misses its intended target.
Severn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Severn on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Severn moves out of range as Carlton strikes.
Severn throws out a loose jab but Carlton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Severn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carlton tries for a takedown but Severn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Carlton clobbers Severn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Carlton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Severn jabs at Carlton's body.
Severn walks into a straight right hand from Carlton.
Severn lands a glancing blow to the side of Carlton's head.
Carlton throws a big shot that misses.
Carlton shoots in but no luck this time.
Carlton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Severn to score with a decent uppercut.

Severn swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Carlton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Severn moves into range and connects with a jab.
Carlton misses with an uppercut. Severn saw that one coming.
Severn throws a body punch but Carlton moves out of range.
Carlton ducks under a wild hook from Severn.

Severn rushes Carlton and presses him up against the ropes.
Severn makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Severn struggles to land a body shot inside as Carlton controls his hands.
A short body shot lands from Severn as the two fighters clinch.
Carlton looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Severn tries to throw a body punch but Carlton avoids it by throwing Severn back against the cage.
Severn lands a hook that snaps the head of Carlton backwards.
Carlton can't get the takedown.
Ken Severn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Carlton.

Severn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Severn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carlton was well out of range. Poor timing from Severn.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carlton moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A big left from Carlton misses.
Carlton takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Carlton dives in and grabs Severn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Severn pushes down on Carlton's head and hops out.
Carlton throws a series of punches but Severn moves out of range.

Severn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carlton to the mat! Carlton manages to get full guard.
Carlton trying to keep a closed guard but Severn is proving a slippery customer.
Carlton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Severn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Severn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Severn is working Carlton over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Severn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carlton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Severn, into his guard.

Carlton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carlton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Severn wants to sweep but no luck.
Severn is pulling down on Carlton's head. It's preventing any offense from Carlton, at least for the moment.
Severn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Severn is trying to hold Carlton in close to prevent damage but Carlton has managed to pass into half guard.

Carlton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Severn is just riding it out for now. Carlton eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Severn slips under a jab from Carlton.
A cross from Carlton lands.
Severn misses with a looping right.
A telegraphed right hand from Carlton misses the target.
Carlton misses with a takedown attempt
and Severn counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Severn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carlton was covering up waiting for the punch and Severn finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Severn stands up and waves to Carlton to follow him.
Carlton avoids the body shot from Severn.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Severn. Carlton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Severn throws a hook but Carlton blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Severn dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Carlton fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Severn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Carlton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Severn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carlton was well out of range. Poor timing from Severn.

Severn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carlton.
Carlton smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Carlton throws a right and a left that Severn avoids nicely.

and Severn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carlton won't be happy with that.

Severn wants to take a breather but Carlton is having none of it.
