Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rampage Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ville Apila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rampage Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ville Apila! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson lands a nice shot to the body.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Apila as he avoids it easily. Apila takes the fight into the clinch. Jackson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Apila smiles and moves away.
Apila leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rampage Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson tries to land a leg kick but Apila saw it coming and moves away.
Apila closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jackson is trying to control Apila's posture but Apila avoids it. Apila works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Apila wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Apila wants to control but Jackson is keeping him busy. Apila misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Apila landing strikes. Apila in side control, throwing shots but Jackson defends. Jackson pushes Apila away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Apila gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sloppy strikes there by Apila. Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Jackson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Jackson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Jackson is breathing heavily. Apila working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson wants to control but Apila is keeping busy.
Jackson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Apila on the ground. Jackson trying to control here.
Apila is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Apila scores with a couple of nice shots. Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Apila is working away from the top position though. Apila lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Apila is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Apila perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Apila scores with a couple of nice shots. Jackson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Apila drops an elbow to the side of Jackson's head. Apila is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jackson is rocked! Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position. Apila lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Oh Jackson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Apila in particular looking to stall. Jackson seems to have got his legs back now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Apila is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jackson! Apila landing shots from mount. Apila breaks from Jackson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Apila lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jackson can't escape the position.
Apila connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson wants to control but Apila is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Apila's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ville Apila!
