Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Di Maio attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Shirokov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Di Maio takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shirokov throws a body punch but Di Maio moves out of range.
Di Maio goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Serguei Shirokov has been cut.

Di Maio tried to score with a low kick but Shirokov checks it.
Shirokov just misses with a punch to the body.
Di Maio throws a big shot that misses.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shirokov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Di Maio - the referee stops the clock and Shirokov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Di Maio. Shirokov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Shirokov throws a shot from downtown. Di Maio moves away and avoids it.
Shirokov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Di Maio throws a head kick that misses.

Shirokov drops Di Maio with a beautiful combination! Di Maio stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Shirokov is looking for the KO!

Shirokov takes a swing at Di Maio's ribcage but misses.
Oh Di Maio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shirokov throws a nice looking combination but Di Maio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

No joy there for Shirokov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shirokov is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Di Maio rather than just go for the knockout.
Shirokov scores with the left hand. Di Maio knows he should have avoided that one.

Di Maio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shirokov was well out of range. Poor timing from Di Maio.
Di Maio drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Di Maio tries to land a front kick but Shirokov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Shirokov throws a series of punches but Di Maio moves out of range.
Di Maio changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Shirokov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Di Maio works Shirokov's body with a nice hook.
Shirokov looks gassed!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Di Maio lunges at Shirokov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shirokov's hand.
Di Maio cracks the inside of Shirokov's front leg.
Di Maio thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Serguei Shirokov dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Crunch! Di Maio slams his shin into Shirokov's torso.

Di Maio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Shirokov in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Di Maio throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Shirokov is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
