Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Whatts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Gun has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Gun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Whatts! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gun changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whatts tries to avoid it but Gun manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whatts to the ground. Whatts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gun looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Whatts takes the fight into the clinch. Whatts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Whatts throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gun. Whatts is looking to land body kicks. Whatts fails with the takedown. Some wild striking there from Whatts.
Whatts throws a right and a left that both miss. Gun fails with the takedown and Whatts counters with a single leg into guard. Gun didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Gun. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Whatts is one step ahead there. Whatts tries to stand but Gun is controlling from the bottom. Gun looking for a sweep. Not yet Gun, not yet. Whatts trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gun's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Whatts accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whatts wants to stand but Gun has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Whatts gets to his feet. Gun looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Whatts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Whatts avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gun tries to close the distance and clinch but Whatts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gun will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Whatts misses with a wild combination.
Gun blocks a head kick by Whatts.
Gun misses with a takedown and Whatts counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gun is breathing heavily. Gun is looking to improve his position.
Whatts looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Whatts gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Gun with a poor takedown and Whatts counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Whatts lands with a nice combination. Gun backs away looking to recover. Gun tries for a takedown but Whatts circles away easily and Whatts counters with a three punch combo that has Gun backing up. Gun nods at Whatts to acknowledge the strikes. Gun shoots for a takedown but Whatts saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gun fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gun fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Whatts sprawls well initially but Gun persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gun thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Whatts can do anything to dispel that myth. Gun is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Whatts is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
