Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Killarus McCloud!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCloud throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
McCloud shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Payne pinned against the cage. Payne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Payne tries to clinch up but McCloud circles away and keeps his distance.

Payne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Payne is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McCloud knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Payne wants to take a breather but McCloud manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Payne.

McCloud is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Payne decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Payne looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Payne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCloud can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McCloud is fighting to break Payne's control of his arms but Payne is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Payne kicks McCloud off and gets to his feet.

McCloud gets caught flat footed, as Payne shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
McCloud is trying to keep Payne in close.

McCloud is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

and McCloud counters with a single leg into guard. Payne didn't expect that.
McCloud postures up and lands a big shot to Payne's brow.

McCloud looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
McCloud wants to lay and pray for a moment but Payne keeps working.

Payne pushes McCloud off and gets back to his feet.

McCloud closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Payne to the mat! Payne manages to get full guard.

Payne manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Payne moves in looking to clinch but McCloud pushes him off.
Max Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McCloud closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCloud lands in his opponent's guard.
McCloud connects with a couple of short punches.

McCloud is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Nice sprawl there from Payne as McCloud shoots in.
Max Payne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Killarus McCloud.

and McCloud counters by moving into the clinch.

Payne scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Payne fails with an attempt to clinch.
McCloud avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Payne clinches but McCloud breaks the clinch

and McCloud counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McCloud wants to advance to full mount but Payne doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
McCloud sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Payne's guard.

Payne is trying to maintain the position but McCloud is very close to passing his half guard.

McCloud tries to pass the half guard into mount. Payne knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
McCloud passes to side control.

McCloud decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Payne moves in looking to clinch but McCloud pushes him off.

Payne feints and as McCloud raises his hands in defense, Payne changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCloud isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Payne stacks McCloud on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Payne!

McCloud wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Payne seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! McCloud is tapping! Wow, great finish!
