Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spikey Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki fails to land the takedown.
Norman tries to land a front kick but Aoki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Aoki shoots in but Norman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Norman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Norman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Norman wants it to stay on the feet.

Norman throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Aoki is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Norman gets his way!

Norman is trying to stick to Aoki's back but Aoki is turning into Norman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Norman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Aoki.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Aoki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Norman's guard.
Norman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aoki's guard.

Aoki is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Norman is surviving well by controlling Aoki's body position as best he can.
Aoki has hold of Norman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Norman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Aoki is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Aoki extends the arm and Norman is forced to tap!
