The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses. Bell blocks a head kick by Rodriguez.

Bell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rodriguez looks a forlorn figure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rodriguez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Rodriguez looks gassed! Bell stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Bell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Bell scores with a takedown into Rodriguez's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bell connects with a couple of short punches.
